Office 365

Set up email using the iOS Mail app

Applies To: Outlook 2016, Office 2016, Office for business, Office 365 Small Business, More…

Choose your email account:

Outlook.com, Office 365 work or school, Exchange

This is for email accounts and domains that are hosted by Exchange. You may need server settings from your email provider or administrator.

Go to your device’s Settings, scroll down to Mail > Accounts Add Account

 

Select Exchange.

Enter your full email address, password, and a description of your account. Tap Next.

NOTE: If you aren’t sure what your Exchange email address or password is. Contact your organization’s administrator.

If you need to enter additional server settings, contact us.

NOTE: You can also see POP and IMAP settings for Office 365 for Business and go to the section titled “POP and IMAP settings for Exchange-based email” for helpful tips. POP and IMAP will only sync email, not calendar or contacts.

The Mail app may request certain permissions such as accessing your calendar and contacts. To agree, tap Yes.

Now choose what you want your email account to sync with your iOS device and tap Save.

Now you’re all set to go!

iPhone and iPad Configuration For Hosted Exchange 2013

The iPhone and iPad uses Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync, to push your Mail, Contacts, and Calendar data to your iPhone.

*Note – Setting up these instructions will over ride any Contacts or Calendars already on the device. Please back those up prior to following these steps as they are not recoverable.

  1. Setup your Exchange e-mail account by selecting the Settings icon.
  2. Select Mail, Contacts, Calendars
  3. Select Add Account 
  4. Select Microsoft Exchange
  5. Use the following settings and then select Next.
    Email: user@domain.com (the user’s full email address)
    Domain: (leave blank)
    User Name: user@domain.com (the user’s full email address)
    Password: (the user’s password)
    Description: (Anything)
    Server: na02.msexchangeoutlook.com
  1. Select what you would like to sync to the iPhone and then press Done.

  • SMTP Port: 465
Authentication is required for IMAP, POP3, and SMTP.

 

Non-SSL Settings

Username: email@example.com
Password: Use the email account’s password.
Incoming Server: mail.example.com

  • POP3 Port: 110
  • IMAP Port: 143
Outgoing Server: mail.example.com

  • SMTP Port: 25
Authentication is required for IMAP, POP3, and SMTP.
